Rethink Possible!

Last weekend Mike was watching the Masters Golf tournament. I noticed the At&t commercial with a new slogan....Rethink Possible! How great is that! Well this week has been an awesome week for Luke. He is using his voice and words (although hard to understand) A TON more this week! Cute story...there is a commercial for a new movie coming out called "Kick A$$," (who thinks of a title like that??) Anyway, Luke totally latched onto it, and as soon as the commercial was over was saying the word-albeit very laborious as it comes out sound by sound. He was so excited when Mike asked him if he was talking about the movie-so happy to be understood!! I think he is for sure rethinking what is possible with his speech!! We will give him time to get it all together, but I gotta feeling this boy is going to be talking our ears off by the end of this year!

He has also been moving around so much more. In a way this is bad, as we have wood floors throughout a lot of the house. The wood floors are good for him to practice on as the movement is easier, but bad when he gets there and falls. This morning he is not wanting to stay on the carpet. He has been scooting into the pantry, and trying to go down the hall. He also reached a major milestone this week in OT when he crawled three feet by himself. In addition to all of this, he has decided the last two mornings that when it is time to get up, he doesn't need to wait for me to come and get him, he will just get out of bed by himself by scooting down. All this new movement just means we have to watch this kid like a hawk. It is a good thing though. It just shows that when we rethink possible we can reach new heights, break boundaries that were set, and reach goals we (or more like they) thought were unreachable. By rethinking possible, great things are on the horizon, and Oh the places this kid is going to go!!

I almost forgot to add, I had the meeting with the school about Luke going back in July. The meeting went great! I feel confident he will be put in the appropriate spot. The other good news was, if we just want him to go half days to start that is an option too.

I like that ... Rethink Possible! Luke, you always keep moving forward - great job. Jordyn and I were in NYC and we visited St. Patrick's Cathedral. While we were there, Jordyn lit a candle for you Luke for continued strength and wonderful things! We know you have done it all with your amazing self and the support of your wonderful family, but we thought we would say a prayer for you. What an amazing young man you are Luke. I hope you keep chatting away! Keep it up!
