Story of the week

It has been awhile since I have had a cute Luke story of the week, but we got one at church this morning...here goes:) Luke has a helper that goes with him. Bobbie is great with him. She said this morning a boy in Luke's class was asking her what happened with Luke, and she told him Luke's story. He was asking Luke if he liked to eat, and do different things. He then made a face where he opened his eyes really wide and opened his mouth, and told Luke, "Do this." Now, Luke's eyes do not open due to nerve damage (although the right eye has been surgically opened some.) Luke in all of his smartness used his hands to open both of his eyes and made the face the boy was showing him! Where there is a will there is a way...go Luke, you make us proud!

I am VERY happy to report, Luke had a great week at school last week, and was awarded with a morning away yesterday to a friend's ranch where the animals roam. Here is hoping for another great week:)

Rockin It!

Well Luke has been rockin' it in his Physical Therapy sessions. His therapist said his last 5 out of 7 sessions have been great! He has started back to horse therapy, one day a week, and he is staying up a lot longer on the horse than he was last year when we stopped. In his weekly PT session, he has been busy doing lots of walking around (with assistance of course) the cul-de-sac at my in-laws house. This week at school he also had another great accomplishment, eating his entire lunch one day with a fork instead of his hands. Let's just hope he finally has the drive to work!!

This week we have also seen the ugly side of Luke. He has had major behavior issues at home and at school. It has been awhile since he has been this much of a challenge, so pray it goes away soon!! Thanks for checking in:)

Stem Cells

Just a quick post to let everyone know that a week from today we will be leaving for San Diego for Luke to get another round of stem cells. He is actually going to get the stem cells next Wednesday, February 9th in the morning. We are asking that you please PRAY we see amazing results from this infusion! We had already prepaid for this treatment as part of the treatment plan when we went in June. However, the doctor is going to give Luke three times as many cells as he got last time. So next Wednesday, please pray, that if it is God's will for Luke, amazing things are to come:) Thanks so much!!
